Revista Turolenses nº6

Ya ha salido el nº 6 de la Revista Turolenses, en el que he colaborado con la realización de la portada, la contraportada y el interior de la portada. En ellas se muestran imágenes de tres trabajos de producción reciente, de las cuales algunas han sido pensadas ex profeso para la publicación.

It's out # 6 of the Turolenses Magazine, in which I collaborated with the completion of the cover, the back cover and the inside cover. In them are shown images of three works of recent production, some of which have been designed specifically for the publication.

Exposición / Exhibition: Titanik Gallery, Turku (Finland)

Next week I have a small exhibition/installation opening in the Titanik Gallery in Turku. The gallery is run by Arte, an association that includes different professionals of the artistic context of the city, from visual artists to researchers, critics, curators, etc. In addition to its regular program of exhibitions, Titanik hosts an international artist residency program and various events such as concerts, performances and screenings throughout the year.

The Studio Space, the place in which I am going to do my intervention, is open to collaborations during the first two and the last two months of the year. After contacting the gallery team and sending them my proposal, they decided let me have this space for a week in late February, so I'm going to use myself of this opportunity to show some of what I’ve been doing in the Saari Residence during these two last months. The exhibition will be open from 18 to 23 this month.

La semana que viene inauguro una pequeña exposición/instalación en la Galería Titanik, en Turku. La galería está gestionada por Arte, una asociación que aglutina a diferentes profesionales del contexto artístico de la ciudad, desde artistas visuales a investigadores, críticos, comisarios, etc. Además de su programa habitual de exposiciones, Titanik acoge un programa internacional de residencias artísticas y diferentes eventos como, conciertos, performances y proyecciones a lo largo del año.

La sala Studio Space, espacio en el que voy a realizar la intervención, está abierta a colaboraciones puntuales durante los dos primeros y los dos últimos meses del año. Tras ponerme en contacto con el equipo de la galería y hacerles llegar mi propuesta, han decidido cederme este espacio durante una semana a finales de febrero, ocasión que voy a aprovechar para mostrar parte de lo que he estado realizando en la Saari Residence durante estos dos últimos meses. La instalación podrá visitarse del 18 al 23 de este mes.

SAARI RESIDENCE 2014

En estos momentos me encuentro en Finlandia realizando una residencia artística en la SAARI RESIDENCE gestionada por la KONE FOUNDATION. Adjunto un resumen del proyecto en el que estoy trabajando aquí, y que también figura en la web de la fundación junto con una descripción detallada de las características de la residencia. Más adelante iré incorporando al blog imágenes e información sobre el desarrollo del proyecto.


Project Title

“Artwork production and theoretical research as part of the Master’s degree final project developed within the postgraduate program Art: Production and Research of the Polytechnic University of Valencia”


Project Summary

The work I have been carrying out the last few years of artistic production could be described as a “dialog with the image”. Image considered not only as something two-dimensional, but as something more vast and complex, directly related with the way we perceive, represent and transform the world surrounding us. And a dialogue, pointing out the importance language has both, in our perception processes and in our capacity of reflection. This articulation is what we can see in most of my recent works, focused from the relation between the images humans produce inside an artistic context, and the theoretical and critical discourses that dial with them, condensed in something we can classify as metaimages, namely second-order visual reflections on what the images themselves are.

The project I want to develop during my stay in the Saari Residence consists in the production of a series of works/installations which are the progression of this research line, going further into the thought about representation, media and the technological image. This will be made in parallel to the writing of the essay that will include this practical dimension while deepens into some of the latest approaches to the image within art theory and visual culture studies.

Exposición: BENIBEACH

Exposición realizada en la sala de exposiciones del Ayuntamiento de Benidorm. Participaba con dos trabajos: el video “Tiempo” (2013) y la instalación “Tiempo y Materia” (2012).
